DARBY was a victim of neglect.......just a small puppy totally neglected and substantially underweight. The court case is still pending and hopefully those who failed to take care of her will feel the weight of the law.

Shelter fosters gave her a good start until rescue was found and now our role at ASR is to find just the right family for her! Dogs are so special, they don't dwell on their past, they are always ready to move forward and so is Darby, in her quest for a forever family.

Darby has been in our care for a few weeks and her foster Mom has started her on leash walking skills. She's also practicing basic commands and learning manners. She is a bundle of energy and wiggly puppy love ready for adventure! She's also very affectionate....loves car rides, belly rubs and playing ball. We don't know if she lived with children, and due to her style of puppy play, we do not recommend children at this time. 

At the shelter a DNA test was done so we know she is GSD/Rottweiler. Darby is athletic and would be a great companion for walking, jogging, hiking and potentially dog sports. After some good exercise, Darby would love to snuggle up for neck scratches and belly rubs.

* In the group photo, Darby is hard to see however many of the dogs in the photo are "leash reactive". This photo shows the benefit of group classes in teaching dogs to remain calm while in close proximity to the other dogs. Darby did great! :-)
