Koda is a 5 year old, endearing and loving german shepherd-akita mix who must find a new home. He has grownup in one home, but his primary caregiver went to college and now his grandparents feel that he would thrive  with a person or family who has an active lifestyle and can give him the time attention that he longs for and deserves.

Koda has a great personality, is loyal and a shadow to his owner.  He'll be the perfect addition to a family or person who loves a constant companion.  

He is very smart and will excel with training; he already knows COME, SIT, STAY, PLACE and NO. He is crate and house trained.
Koda is strong and walks well on a leash with a dog walker.   He loves to play catch and fetch in the backyard with his freebie toy and a ball.

He has not been around cats or children. He is sensitive to new people and will bark if someone new shows up in his environment but adjusts once he's socialized with the newcomer. He has anxiety with thunderstorms.  

Koda loves car rides and fun times so he will be up for any adventures that include walking, playing, training or exercising.    

The active person or family who have lots of love to give and want to share life’s adventures and joys with Koda will be rewarded with an adoring lifetime companion.

Koda's guardians add: "Koda is a great dog/pet, companion. He alerts us to any outside activity coming near the home or yard i.e., Amazon, Mail, UPS deliveries, or lawn services.... He is highly intelligent, smart, follows commands well, expresses his feelings with pouting and childlike behavior when he wants his way, but will follow the command. He walks well on leash. He has a shock collar, as our yard is not physically fenced.  He enjoys a good vacuum of his fur especially during his shedding season. Koda only eats dry dog food, an occasional potato chip, he loves Peanut butter with his monthly heart guard pill. Koda sleeps on the floor, he is not a furniture dog. He was crated as a puppy, 8-24 months and now has full access downstairs".
