Dan is a smart, sweet and very gentle family dog (under 2 years old), living in a foster home with two young children (ages 2 and 4) and a few cats, who is looking for his forever home.

His foster family love him but know that a better fit for Dan is in a home with a family or person who have time to give a young dog lots of love, attention, exercise and training.  A home with older children would be preferable than a home with toddlers because he does not know how big he is.

Like all smart, young dogs he will enjoy and benefit from training.  He has not had much obedience training but he knows LAY DOWN and NO.

He is playful and likes to get the ball and chew on tough cloth toys.  He gives a friendly bark at new dogs but then just sniffs and goes about his business. He lives with a few cats and leaves them alone.    

He is leash-trained with a harness instead of a collar. 

For car rides,  he will jump in the car when told and lays down in the backseat during the ride.  Just be sure to block him from joining you in the front.

He is not a fan of the crate, but will stay in it if you have to leave the house. 

Dan is a sweetheart and wants to be part of the fun, adventures and joys of life.  He is ready to be the devoted and adoring companion to some lucky family.  A home with a yard where he can run around would be ideal, and a high fence because he can jump.
