Myia is ready for a new life !

When Myia arrived at the shelter, she was a heartbreaking sight — painfully thin, filthy, and in very poor body condition. At intake she weighed only 46 lbs......when she should be at least 65 lbs :-(

Starved and neglected, her body had been through more than any dog should endure. But despite everything, Myia's spirit remains unbroken.

She is sweet, affectionate, and incredibly gentle — still wagging her tail and leaning in for love from everyone she meets. She's also wonderful with other dogs and has quickly become a favorite among volunteers and staff. In addition to being severely underweight  Myia became ill with kennel cough , luckily her devoted foster recognised the symptoms quickly .  It was scary for a few days but immediate vet care including antibiotics helped her rebound .....and she has started to show her playful affectionate personality.

Myia is still  on a strict, vet-prescribed refeeding plan to help her gain weight safely but is doing great. Regular food but on a graduated increase program to avoid over feeding .
